Kitchen Manager – $28–$32/hr | Geddy’s Bar Harbor

Geddy s is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team in downtown Bar Harbor.

We are a busy, high-volume restaurant looking for a confident, hands-on leader who is organized under pressure and comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day back-of-house operations.

The ideal candidate will have previous kitchen management or strong supervisory experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a positive, efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, quality, and presentation
  
• Lead, supervise, schedule, and support kitchen staff
  
• Maintain consistent food quality, portioning, and service standards
  
• Oversee ordering, inventory, stock levels, and waste control
  
• Monitor food and labor costs
  
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety
  
• Train and mentor kitchen staff
  
• Work closely with ownership, management, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
  
• Keep the kitchen organized and efficient during high-volume service
  

Qualifications:

• Kitchen management or strong supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant
  
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations, inventory, and cost control
  
• Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  
• Ability to remain calm and effective during busy service
  
• Experience training and managing kitchen staff
  

Compensation: $28-$32/hour, depending on experience

Full-time position. The role will initially be hourly, with the opportunity to transition to a salaried position next year. Geddy s operates through early December and reopens in early March.
