Kitchen Helper - Lincoln High School

JOB GOAL: To assist in serving the students and other customers attractive, cost effective, and nutritious meals

in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Assists in the preparation of food items in accordance with established recipes, instructions and sanitation

standards.

2. Supports meal service by efficiently and courteously serving students and other customers, following the

established menu and adhering to correct portion sizes.

3. Replenishes food supplies as needed during meal service to ensure continuous and efficient operations.

4. Participates in the daily cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, trays, and food service areas, following

established procedures.

5. Performs scheduled deep cleaning of equipment and areas such as refrigerators, ovens, milk coolers, and

storerooms as directed by the Kitchen Manager.

6. Maintains effective and positive communication with Food Service staff, school personnel, students, and customers

to promote a collaborative and customer-focused environment.

7. Adheres to established procedures for the proper storage and disposal of unused food items.

8. Ensures compliance with all USDA regulations related to meal service and food program operations.

9. Provides coverage and performs duties of other food service positions as needed in the absence of staff members.

10. Follows all established food safety plans and guidelines while performing assigned duties.

11. Completes the required annual hours of continuing education to meet USDA Professional Standards for School

Nutrition Program employees.

12. Performs additional related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Director of Food Services.
