Kindergarten Self-Contained Autism SPED Teacher – Cactus Wren Elementary (Phoenix, AZ)

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead a Kindergarten Self-Contained Autism Classroom serving students who are primarily in the moderate cognitive and adaptive range.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs, track student progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support for students with autism.
• Utilize visual supports, structured teaching strategies, and classroom routines to promote learning and independence.
• Implement positive behavior supports and behavior intervention plans as needed.
• Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and maintain required special education documentation.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with students with autism.
• Strong understanding of visual supports and structured teaching.
• Ability to write compliant IEPs.
• Strong behavior management skills.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
