SUMMARY:
To assist the Site Leader in providing a well-planned, organized, and enriching Kids' Company Program. The position supports the supervision and engagement of children in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Support and monitor students in various settings (e.g., classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and transitions) to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
Conduct objective observations, maintain accurate student data logs, and prepare and organize instructional materials.
Assist in the implementation of student programs and specialized instructional plans (such as IEP accommodations or behavior plans) as assigned.
Assist with the personal care needs of individual students as required, ensuring dignity, safety, and hygiene standards are met.
Demonstrate sensitivity, cultural competence, and respect for diversity in cultural heritage, lifestyles, backgrounds, and value systems among all students and families.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records, medical history, and special education data in accordance with district policies and legal mandates (e.g., FERPA).
Promote positive student behavior by utilizing approved intervention strategies and enforcing established expectations.
Assist the Site Leader in planning, implementing and carrying out daily activities.
Supervise children's activities, including set-up and clean-up, and ensure all safety rules are followed.
Support and implement discipline procedures as needed when directly involved with the situation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Actively participate in games, projects, and activities, serving as a positive role model and leader.
Maintain program supplies and communicate with the Site Leader when additional materials are needed.
Be available to work on release days as scheduled by the Site Leader or Kids' Company Coordinator.
Communicate any concerns, incidents, or unusual situations to the Site Leader and/or Coordinator.
Attend staff meetings and recommended training programs to meet in-service training requirements.
Promote teamwork, excellent customer service, and a positive image of the program to colleagues, students, parents, and the community.
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district and program policies.
Support student well-being and daily engagement by providing individualized assistance as needed to ensure successful participation in program activities.
Work collaboratively with staff to monitor and assist students with personal requirements throughout the daily schedule
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED
At least 18 years of age.
One (1) year experience working with young children (approximately 1,040 hours), preferred.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Required Knowledge:
District policies and procedures.
Confidentiality requirements related to students and families.
Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols.
Required Skills:
Ability to support individual students and small groups.
Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, students and families.
Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.
