Reports to: Assistant Store Manager–Customer Experience

Status: Seasonal,Part-time, non-exempt

Supervisory Role: No

Objective

To provide excellent customer service and support daily operations that drive sales, while remaining aligned with the vision of The Church of Eleven22® and Hope’s Closet®—to be a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Key Responsibilities

• Minister of the gospel
• Share personal testimony and the gospel, actively care for and disciple staff and serve team members through relational engagement and recognitionand pray with customers and serve staff
• Drive sales by executing daily operations (sales, cash office management, merchandising, replenishment, loss prevention, ensure safety) and providing excellent customer service to our customers and donors
• Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems and handling of money
• Perform opening and closing procedures of the store in times when a manager may not be present:cash office procedures and discrepancies, arming/disarming the store, incident reporting
• Assist in leading and working alongside of serve staff
• Maintain organization of inventory and supplies on sales floor and cash wrap
• Support in donations department as needed
• Help lead and create an inspiring team environment through setting and celebrating team goals, casting vision and demonstrating a proactive work culture

Education and Experience

• One to two years of relevant work experience or volunteer hours, including retail or warehouse experience preferred
• High school diploma preferred
• Experience operating cash registers and handling of money 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position which reports to the Assistant Store Manager – Customer Experience.  Days may vary by week due to the needs of the store and events. Flexibility in scheduling is   to support the needs of the store. Weekend and holiday hours are a must.

The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church ofEleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage all staff to participate and serve at these events, and the stores are closed during these times to ensure The Hope’s Closet Team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment which includes both sales floor and warehouse/stockrooms; employees may have to occasionally work outdoors where temperatures and climate can fluctuate.

This position works mostly with cash registers, rolling racks, retail fixtures, furniture carts, laddersand dollies.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods; bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials; navigate uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs and lift up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
