KAW NATION POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: KAW LANGUAGE ASSISTANT/SUPPORT STAFF

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: LANGUAGE DIRECTOR

CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

STATUS: PART-TIME

LOCATION: Newkirk, OK

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a high school diploma/GED, and office experience, including clerical and computer skills in a Windows environment. Must have the ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and community members. Must be able to interact with various age groups as a teacher assistant to maintain classroom order and efficiency. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record. Good communication skills, and the ability to set priorities, organize, and coordinate work efficiently. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and maintain such status, as well as possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be and continue to be insurable. This is a part-time position (25-30 hrs. week).

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Clean and maintain the Language wing in Newkirk, OK.

2. Assist Language Teachers/Director in all classes

3. Drive students to and from class

4. Prepare classrooms for classes

5. Be responsible for all snacks/meals for all classes which includes: shopping, cooking, preparation of eating spaces, clean-up

6. Help with any office and computer work necessary

7. Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate and/or controlling supervisors.
