R&D Kapton Semi-Works Engineer (R&D Process and Mechanical Integrity Engineer)
We are seeking an R&D Process and Mechanical Integrity Engineer with strong chemical, mechanical, and technical expertise to support the Kapton Semi-Works (KSW) casting process and new formulation development within our Qnity R&D electronic materials business. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and developing engineering concepts and technologies to enhance and optimize the KSW process. The engineer will evaluate technical and process-related challenges, execute capital and cost improvement projects, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This individual will also demonstrate leadership in the development and application of new products, processing techniques, and day-to-day troubleshooting activities.
The role requires the ability to support multiple programs while collaborating closely with casting operations, maintenance, and research teams to advance new product casting and small-lot commercial production. A key objective is to assist in scaling technologies from pilot to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource across functions, helping drive innovation, process reliability, and overall manufacturing excellence.
