    Reports To: Principal (with close collaboration with the Special Education Coordinator)

    Employment: Full-Time (183 Days)

    Position Summary:

    This position will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and interventions to students identified through Special Education, Title I and MTSS. This position ensures that every student receives the support they need to become a successful learner. This role reflects the belief that students can write the next chapter of their academic journey through targeted literacy instruction and meaningful relationships.

    Job Expectations:

    • Generate and implement lesson plans specific to student learning needs that align to Indiana Academic Stands, IEP goals, Title 1 requirements and MTSS Intervention plans
    • Provide small-group and individual instruction
    • Assist with intervention blocks and What I Need (WiN) Time
    • Deliver research-based literacy interventions to students in grades K-12
    • Differentiate instruction based on student needs, goals and assessment data
    • Utilize district literacy curriculum and intervention resources with fidelity
    • Monitor student growth using district assessments
    • Maintain documentation
    • Recommend adjustments to interventions based on student performance
    • Maintain intervention documentation
    • Collect and analyze student data

    Leadership and Coordination of Services:

    • Oversee scheduling of intervention services
    • Assist with Title 1, MTSS, and Special Education program documentation
    • Model effective instructional practices
    • Collaborate with all key stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, staff, students, and families
    • Participate in PLC and MTSS meetings
    • Coordinate literacy resources K-12 and support the implementation of the school's literacy initiative

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others within the school environment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students.
    • Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with families.

    Qualifications

    • Valid Indiana teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5)
    • Strong instructional and classroom management skills
    • Effective communication and organizational abilities
    • Commitment to continuous improvement and student success
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment
    • Professional demeanor with students, families, and staff
