    Job Description

    Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, is accepting applications for a Casual Temporary, K-12 Partnership Coordinator. This is a non-bargaining, non-exempt, temporary position. Non-exempt positions are no eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College.     The K-12 Partnership Coordinator will extend beyond the coordination of individual programs and events to supporting the development, implementation, and sustainability of a coordinated collegewide approach to K–12 engagement in an effort to directly advance the College’s Strategic Plan (SPOL) and Academic Master Plan (AMP) priorities.

    This is a temporary position without benefits funded through June 30, 2027. Employment continuation beyond this period is contingent on need and funding.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of the collegewide MC Experience across multiple campuses in alignment with the Strategic Plan and Academic Master Plan.
    • Coordinate with MCPS, faculty, academic leadership, Facilities, IT, Public Safety, Compliance, catering, and other College partners to manage program logistics and requirements.
    • Develop event schedules, secure campus spaces, coordinate transportation and school participation, and manage student group assignments and campus activities.
    • Recruit, coordinate, and train faculty presenters, student group leaders, volunteers, and faculty assistants.
    • Manage the faculty proposal process, including solicitation, review, selection, notification, and coordination of resources for hands-on academic experiences.
    • Ensure compliance with Youth Protection requirements, chaperone ratios, accessibility needs, and other College and MCPS protocols.
    • Coordinate event communications, materials, signage, meals, photography, and day-of operations across campuses.
    • Develop contingency plans and make real-time operational adjustments related to weather, school delays, attendance, and other circumstances.
    • Develop and administer program evaluations, facilitate post-event reviews, and report outcomes, challenges, and recommendations to College leadership.
    • Develop and implement expanded curriculum-focused middle school campus experiences that connect 7th- and 8th-grade students with MC academic programs, faculty, career pathways, and student ambassadors.
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual Dual Enrollment Recognition Ceremony in partnership with MCPS and College stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with senior leadership, Special Events, MCTV, Facilities, Public Safety, Advancement, catering, accessibility services, and external vendors.
    • Convene and lead the ceremony planning committee and maintain ongoing communication with College and MCPS partners.
    • Develop the ceremony program, script, timeline, floor plan, student seating, platform party arrangements, and VIP protocols.
    • Coordinate identification and verification of eligible Dual Enrollment students completing an MC degree or earning 45 or more college credits.
    • Manage student communications, RSVPs, recognition materials, student speakers, performers, and ceremony participation requirements.
    • Coordinate participation of College and MCPS senior leadership, Board of Trustees and Board of Education members, and other dignitaries.
    • Manage event logistics, including catering, photography, audiovisual production, accessibility services, security, facilities, signage, parking, and contracted services.
    • Lead ceremony rehearsals, day-of operations, and the post-ceremony reception, addressing operational issues as needed.
    • Conduct post-event assessment with MC, MCPS, and event partners and document successes, challenges, and recommendations for future ceremonies.
    • Coordinate the planning and implementation of curriculum-focused campus visits for middle school students across Montgomery College campuses.
    • Collaborate with MCPS schools, MC faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to coordinate visit schedules, logistics, and student participation.
    • Identify and coordinate faculty-led, hands-on academic experiences aligned with students’ interests and College programs and career pathways.
    • Coordinate student group leaders, campus tours, classroom space, transportation logistics, and other operational needs.
    • Develop standardized schedules, communications, materials, and procedures to support a consistent and scalable campus visit model.
    • Collect and evaluate student and stakeholder feedback to assess program effectiveness and inform future programming.
    • Support alignment of the initiative with Strategic Plan Outcome 1 and the College’s broader K–12 pathway and early engagement efforts.
    • Lead a collegewide inventory of programs, events, and engagement opportunities serving students in Grades 6–8.
    • Establish and maintain a centralized repository of middle school programs and activities offered across academic departments, campuses, and College offices.
    • Develop and maintain an outreach tracking system to coordinate engagement efforts, identify gaps and reduce duplication across the College.
    • Collaborate with College departments to ensure program information is current, accurate, and effectively promoted.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and awareness plan to increase visibility of Montgomery College opportunities among middle school students and families.
    • Coordinate development and maintenance of a centralized middle school webpage highlighting programs, events, academic experiences, and pathways.
    • Develop and coordinate Middle School Prep-Talk to introduce students and families to MC programs, college preparation, and future academic pathways.
    • Coordinate outreach and promotion with MCPS, community organizations, families, and other partners to broaden participation and awareness.
    • Monitor participation and outreach data to identify underserved schools, communities, and student populations and inform future engagement strategies.
    • Support alignment of Grades 6–8 outreach and engagement activities with Strategic Plan Outcome 1, the Academic Master Plan, and the College’s broader K–12 pathway strategy.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in education, public administration, or a related field.
    • At least three years of progressively responsible experience in program coordination, outreach, or academic initiatives (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • Experience working in higher education or with K-12 partnerships.
    • Familiarity with dual enrollment, or other academic pathways programs.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft reports, memos, and presentations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data management tools, and presentation software.
    • High level of discretion, initiative, and attention to detail.

    Hiring Rage: $60.00 per hour
