Jr. UI/UX Designer (Part Time)Location: Onsite, 3 days in Boston Tue - ThurDuration: 6 months, with possible extension if all goes well
Hours: 24 hours/week Start: ASAPPURPOSE:The Junior UI/UX Designer supports the creation of clear, intuitive, and client-centered digital experiences that reflect the organization's commitment to thoughtful design, disciplined execution, and long-term value. This role contributes to the design process from concept through implementation, helping translate user needs, business objectives, and brand standards into effective web and mobile experiences. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative designer who is eager to grow their UI/UX expertise while contributing to high-quality digital solutions that support our clients, colleagues, and business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Collaborate with senior and lead designers to develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that align with business objectives, user needs, and organizational brand standards.
- Support the design and refinement of digital interfaces that are accessible, intuitive, and consistent across the organization's web and mobile experiences.
- Assist with user research activities, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to gather insights that inform thoughtful, evidence-based design decisions.
- Participate in design reviews by presenting work clearly, incorporating feedback, and ensuring solutions remain aligned with project goals, user needs, and the organization's quality standards.
- Partner with developers and cross-functional stakeholders to support accurate implementation of design specifications, assets, and user experience requirements.
- Contribute to user personas, journey maps, user flows, and other design documentation that help clarify audience needs and guide consistent digital experiences.
- Stay informed on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies to continually strengthen design practices and support ongoing improvement.
- Prepare and organize design assets for development handoff with attention to accuracy, consistency, and efficient collaboration across project teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS:- Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Two to four years of experience in UI/UX design or a related field, including internships, freelance work, or relevant project experience.
- Strong understanding of UI design principles, UX methodologies, accessibility considerations, and user-centered design best practices.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of foundational web technologies, including HTML and CSS, to support effective collaboration with developers.
- Ability to create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and related design artifacts.
- Experience working within Adobe Experience Manager or a comparable content management system.
- Excellent attention to detail, visual design judgment, and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a disciplined, team-oriented environment.
