Junior Structural Engineer

The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and project managers to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective structural solutions for utility clients. This role will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures associated with transmission and distribution substations using STAAD Pro and other engineering software.

Jr. Structural Engineer 

Alabaster, AL | Full-Time | $60 – $70K, depending on experience 
Summary:

• We are seeking a motivated Junior Structural Engineer to join our engineering team supporting the design and analysis of electric utility substation structures and foundations.
• This role will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures associated with transmission and distribution substations using STAAD Pro and other engineering software.
• The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and project managers to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective structural solutions for utility clients.

Job Duties:

• Perform structural analysis and design of utility substation structures, including: Equipment support structures, Bus support structures, Steel frames, Control buildings, Foundations and anchor systems.
• Develop and analyze structural models using STAAD Pro.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Review vendor drawings and equipment loads for integration into structural designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Maintain project documentation and engineering quality standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed (EIT certification where applicable)
• 0-2 Years of Structural Engineering experience
• STAAD Pro or similar analysis software experience
