    JOB SUMMARY

    The Junior Securities Portfolio Analyst is part of a group that manages the fixed income securities portfolio for BankUnited. This position supports the Chief Investment Office in creating periodic reporting and quantitative analysis designed to monitor and analyze the performance of the Bank's investment portfolio. The role will work closely with the Investment Office and will also interact with the Credit, Operations, and Technology teams.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Build and maintain portfolio reports using database management and analytical tools including Python, AWS, SQL, Bloomberg, CAS, Tableau, and Intex
    • Perform and document investment analysis, credit stress scenarios, and interest rate shocks on fixed income securities purchases and sales
    • Assist Portfolio Managers in managing quarterly securities portfolio valuation process
    • Work closely with Portfolio Managers on portfolio construction, investment strategy, and performance assessment utilizing data, statistical, and computational analysis
    • Participate in special projects for Portfolio Managers which includes computational and quantitative analysis skills

    Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).

    Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.

    Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science or related quantitative field required

    Experience

    • 0-3 Years of work experience required
    • Experience with structured products a strong plus
    • Experience with CAS and or Intex a plus
    • Experience working with data using Python (NumPy, Pandas, etc...) strongly preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong quantitative skills
    • Comfortable using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc Excel VBA experience preferred
    • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services, such as EC2, Lambda, Athena, Glue, and Redshift a plus
