Position Overview

A leading privately held real estate owner, operator, and developer is seeking a Construction Leader to oversee and drive its growing development pipeline. With a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and continued national expansion, the company specializes in self-storage development and is experiencing significant growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own development project outcomes and implementation.

  • Refine conceptual layouts and unit mixes.

  • Develop budgets and proformas.

  • Internal Investment committee presentations.

  • Manage development schedule to meet milestones with consultants.

  • Shepherd projects through the public process.

  • Engage in design development reviews to achieve high quality permit and bid sets.

  • Utility coordination and verification.

  • Complete permitting and bonding processes.

  • Bid and negotiate work with General Contractors.

  • Own Construction Administration – drive timely workflows with General Contractors and Consultants.

  • Proactively identify impediments to progress and aggressively mitigate cost and schedule impacts.

  • Visit jobsites periodically as Owner Representative.

  • Project closeout and hand off for operation.

  • Update Yardi or similar software (training provided).

  • Embrace opportunities to use technology for efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience managing real estate development projects from concept through completion including budgeting, permitting, contractor coordination, and construction administration

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills

  • Collaborative leadership and communication skills

  • Set priorities and pursue them doggedly.

  • Simplify the complex and initiate action.

  • Create the project plan, organize, and bring closure.

  • Bring creative solutions.

  • Sustain greatness in a team environment.

  • Have prior success in performing the Key Responsibilities of this position.


This full-time opportunity offers a targeted salary range of $120,000–$140,000, along with a competitive benefits package.
