Junior Metal Fabrication Technician (Shop)

A day in the shop

Picture your morning: you clock in, review the day’s build list, and help stage welding equipment so the team can hit the ground running. With a tape measure on your belt and a blueprint in hand, you verify dimensions, mark lines, and make precise cuts. Under guidance, you rotate between MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux-cored welding to support production tasks, double-checking each joint for accuracy and quality. Between jobs, you reset the work area, uphold safety best practices aligned with OSHA standards, and jump in with teammates to keep schedules on track. Before you leave, you tidy your station and spend a few minutes sharpening your skills through on-the-job training.

What you’ll do

• Assist with setting up and preparing welding equipment for production runs.
• Read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings to fabricate to spec.
• Apply multiple processes: MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc welding.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials precisely using a tape measure and related tools.
• Keep the workspace organized and safe; follow OSHA-aligned protocols.
• Coordinate with peers to meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Join training opportunities to expand your welding and fabrication toolkit.

Must-haves

• OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10) is required.
• Foundational knowledge of production welding setups.
• Ability to read/understand blueprints and technical drawings.
• Comfortable taking accurate measurements with a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Team-first mindset and willingness to learn new processes.

Nice-to-haves
