Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a financial services company, for a Junior Data Analyst to join their growing analytics team. This is a great opportunity for an early-career analyst to work with real financial datasets, build dashboards that inform business decisions, and learn directly from experienced analysts and finance leaders in a remote-friendly environment.

Day to day, you will pull and clean data from multiple internal systems, build recurring reports, and help answer ad hoc questions from finance and operations stakeholders. This role suits someone who is naturally curious about numbers, comfortable learning new tools quickly, and eager to grow their SQL and visualization skills while contributing to decisions that matter.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and organize financial and operational data from multiple sources
  • Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards using SQL and Excel
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles for the finance team
  • Assist in identifying trends and anomalies in financial datasets
  • Partner with senior analysts to translate business questions into data requests
  • Maintain documentation for data sources, definitions, and reporting processes
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from internal stakeholders
  • Help validate data accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Assist with the creation of visualizations and presentations for leadership
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to reporting and data quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field
  • Up to 1 year of experience in a data analysis, finance, or reporting role
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas
  • Familiarity with a visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large datasets
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote work environment
  • Interest in financial services and eagerness to learn new analytical tools
