Day to day, you will spend your time watching security dashboards, triaging alerts, and digging into logs to figure out whether something is noise or a real threat. The role suits someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, someone who enjoys puzzles, stays calm when an alert fires at an inconvenient hour, and wants mentorship from a team that will help turn foundational knowledge into real-world security expertise.

  • Assist in triaging, investigating, and escalating potential security incidents
  • Support vulnerability scanning and help track remediation efforts
  • Help maintain and tune SIEM rules, dashboards, and detection content
  • Document incidents, findings, and standard operating procedures
  • Assist with security awareness efforts and phishing simulation programs
  • Support access reviews and basic identity and access management tasks
  • Help gather evidence and documentation for audits and compliance requests
  • Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker techniques
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to close security gaps

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls
  • Familiarity with common operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Exposure to security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, or vulnerability scanners is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Eagerness to learn and pursue relevant certifications such as Security Plus or CEH
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k plan with employer match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling
  • Home office equipment and internet stipend
  • Professional development budget for certifications and training
  • Employee assistance program
