40 Hours Per Week; Monday - Friday (2nd shift)

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP OR LINE OF AUTHORITY:

Directly responsible to Senior Custodian and Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma required.
• Other requirements: reliability, punctuality, ability to take direction, complete assigned tasks and take pride in the school facility being clean, safe and secure.
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs custodial duties and minor repairs. Assists in sanitation control and checks safety hazards. Receives supervision from school principal and Senior Custodian. Does not supervise any other employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs cleaning and custodian duties which also involves furniture moving; limited grounds maintenance, and minor repair work

Ability to employ basic building maintenance skill such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, cleaning

Reports needs for major repairs to senior custodian

Keeps custodian's room neat and orderly, and reports supply orders to senior custodian

Mows and trims lawn and hedges; cleans snow from entrances and sidewalks

Assists in control of sanitation

Assists in checking school for safety hazards and reports any deficiency

Ability to maintain effective working relationship with administration, staff, parents and students

Performs related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, squat, knee, stoop, climb, and reach

Some custodial experience preferred

Ability to use custodial equipment

Ability to assist in keeping the school clean and orderly
