We take on high-value contingency matters that other firms pass on — the cases with real liability fights and real damages. We are looking for a junior associate to join our team and grow into a trial lawyer.DutiesCarry real case responsibility from day one, under direct supervision of senior counselDraft pleadings, motions, and written discoveryTake and defend depositionsWork up cases for mediation and trialSit second chair (and eventually first chair) on cases that go to verdictSkillsStrong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis and Westlaw platformsExcellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents and correspondenceKnowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, and patent lawEffective negotiation skills for supporting settlement discussions or contract reviewsExperience with legal administrative tasks such as case file organization and document managementAbility to analyze complex legal issues critically and apply relevant statutes or case law effectivelyFamiliarity with legal research tools and software used within a busy law office environmentWhat we are looking for1–3 years of California civil litigation experienceActive CA bar membership in good standingComfort with contingency work and the pace of an active plaintiff's practicePlaintiff-side experience preferred; defense experience consideredWhat we offerCompensation at or above market for your experience levelPerformance bonuses tied to case outcomesSignificant case responsibility — you will not be doing doc review for two yearsHigh-value, factually interesting cases against sophisticated defense firmsDirect mentorship from the firm's owner, a trial lawyer admitted in CA, NY, and WAHealth benefits, 401(k), paid time offIn-office position in Sherman OaksJoin us to embark on an enriching career path where your enthusiasm meets meaningful work.
