PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This role provides support in two key areas of the Triumph Motorcycles business; for Sales Management in the form of reporting and analysis, and to Sales Management, Regional Managers, and the Triumph Dealer Network regarding all aspects of Bike Distribution. The analytical side of the role focuses on operational data to prepare and update standard reporting and assist all departments with ad hoc reporting requests.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, update, and improve daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
- Reporting on available motorcycle inventory and gaps in Dealer stock
- Motorcycle retail and wholesale reporting, forecasting and analysis
- Manage the Motorcycle Autostock program for United States and Canada
- Entering Autostock and Forward orders for dealers and assisting with Forward order reporting
- Support all departments by fielding and completing a range of ad hoc data reporting requests
- Assist Bike Distribution with all aspects of processing and invoicing motorcycle shipments to North American dealers
- Review and respond in a timely manner to cases submitted via Microsoft Dynamics, emails and phone calls from RMs and dealers related to the Bike Distribution department
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge:
- One needs to have knowledge of AS400 and Infor systems and knowledge of all programs related to motorcycles to be successful at this job
- Needs a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, and Case System Management
- Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience using Pivot Tables, Lookups, Formulas, etc)
- Ability to clean, format, and structure raw numerical data
- One needs average to above average typing skills since a portion of the job involves emailing contacts and entering data into AS400 and Microsoft Dynamics
- Abilities:
- Analytical thinker who can spot trends in operational data.
- Maintain deep concentration over extended stretches of Excel work to flag data anomalies and identify the story the data is telling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-directed and resourceful problem solver
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as talking to dealers and explaining current programs are often required
- Keen decision-making abilities to be able to quickly determine resolutions to any Bike Distribution related issues
RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal:
- Works closely with every department within the company on a daily basis, including Sales, Aftersales, Dealer Development, Marketing, and Accounting
- This job also requires close communication with both Internal TMA staff and the field-based Sales Team in US and Canada
- External
- Requires interaction with a majority of our dealers throughout North America
- Requires occasional communication with Wholesale Finance Supplier (Wells Fargo and North Point)
- Requires occasional communication with suppliers to arrange motorcycle shipments to our dealer network; occasional communication with ocean freight suppliers to resolve any shipment issues
AUTHORITY
- Most decisions can be made independently; management approval is needed for decisions that would vary from normal policy
- Allows for decisions to be made on day-to-day shipment of motorcycles
- Allows for decisions on freight charges to be made; shipping rate quotes must be approved daily
- This job does not come with the authority to hire/fire anyone
