L2 System Engineer (Remote - MSP exp)
Ideal candidates will be well-rounded in their project experience, not just specializing in one area. For example, engineers who have focused solely on networking without meaningful first-hand and direct experience in supporting server virtualization, cloud migrations or Microsoft 365 deployments may find this role outside their wheelhouse. We're looking for those who bring balanced, hands-on expertise across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in an infrastructure (not application) IT support role with at least 2 years delivering smaller projects solely or in a "junior” role supporting more senior Project Engineer(s) in larger, more complex projects based on "Working Knowledge” section and "Representative Projects (SMB vs Enterprise)” section.
- Previous experience "racking and stacking " infrastructure hardware including rack-mount servers, firewalls, switches, etc. Familiarity with trouble-shooting structured cabling is a plus.
- Highly proficient in building and supporting Windows-based and Mac computers. Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile devices is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work entirely from office or Client site (across DFW).
- Ability and willingness to individually lift up to 30lbs as needed.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Current Texas Driver's License.
- Well-maintained and insured personal automobile... preferably with a trunk and/or secured space for storage a small amount of hardware, tools, etc.
- Bachelor's degree, comparable collegiate and/or trade school experience, or equivalent work experience.

- Implement Conference Room Solution (e.g., Logitech)
- Implement office moves and/or new office setup
- Stage and prepare computers for manual or automated build
- Assist with final data migration of built computers and position workstation including computer setup, peripheral setup and cable management
- Relocate hardware such as workstations, printers, etc.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver projects solely or with other project resource(s) based on "Working Knowledge” section above. NOTE: Based on the size and/or type of project, you may fully own the project as "Project Lead” OR be in a junior role working with a more senior Project Engineer (the "Project Lead”).
Work with Project Design Desk resource(s) and other Project Engineer(s) to review and validate prospective project scope based on "Working Knowledge” section above as well as knowledge of client-specific infrastructure environment.
- Provide ad-hoc support and mentoring of more junior technical resources when needed via escalations, assistance, etc.
- Adhere to company-defined metrics and expectations including DAILY time entry and status reporting. Sample metrics include Billing Utilization, CSAT and EAC (actuals in line with estimates).
- Create and/or update existing technical documentation during and post-project.
- Complete "Knowledge Transfer” sessions with non-Projects staff post-project to ensure: the Service Desk team can manage and support the technical implementation; the Technical Alignment team can audit against best practices and standards; and the Centralized Services team can monitor the environment for a superior client experience.
- Identify opportunities for automation and, if appropriate (based on skills, availability and/or interest), implement said automation via tools such as Powershell scripting, Rewst, ImmyBot, Intune, Zapier, etc.

Other Considerations
- This position is intended to be a full-time position (with standard benefits to be discussed).
- This position is an exempt role... you will be paid a salary and will not be eligible for overtime pay.
- This position will report to the Project Manager (PM) when working on projects and Service Desk Lead (SDL) when working on escalations and/or tickets requiring onsite activity.
- Work is expected to be done primarily at client site.
- A "hoteling” workspace will be available to you at our Dallas office (75 and 635 area) or Ft. Worth office (downtown FTW) if needed.
- While client site and/or company office will be your primary work locations, there will be times where you may work from your home and/or remote location of your choosing, conducive to a professional and productive work environment e.g., stable power and internet service, no background noise, etc.
- Company does not have minimum onsite requirements... this is driven entirely by the needs of our clients. At times, with sufficient notice, you may be required to attend activities at our main office (in Dallas, TX), a sales prospect site and/or an entertainment location (e.g., TopGolf).
- Travel time to/from company office and Client site is included in daily hour tracking. Personal home proximity to primary office (Dallas) may be differentiator... travel to/from home and company office is not included in expense and/or time tracking.
- Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed on a monthly rate e.g., reimburse mileage per then-current IRS mileage rate, parking and tolls. Mileage and time tracking to/from client/prospect is based on your primary office being the starting and/or destination point (even if you are starting/ending at your home).
- Company will provide a laptop and may consider peripherals for a remote workspace e.g., monitor, etc.
- Company will supplement $50 per month for mobile device service.
- Company will supplement $50 per month for home internet service.
- This position is included in the weekly on-call rotation (typically, 1 week per 6-8 weeks). All attempts are made to minimize the burden of on-call by requiring user to clearly communicate on-call need (not just the default), staffing the team with resources in the APAC and EMEA time zones (for evening coverage Sunday thru Thursday, etc.).
