Description
Prestige Engineering is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Jr. Staff Accountant / Financial Analyst to support our growing finance department. This position will assist with daily accounting operations, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, analytical, and capable of working independently while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This individual should demonstrate initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and account research.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting financial documentation.
- Support general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with external audit requests by gathering and organizing supporting documentation.
- Perform data entry and support accounting processes within ERP systems.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks and JobBOSS, or similar platforms.
- Identify discrepancies, research accounting issues, and assist with resolving variances.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure documentation is complete and accessible.
- Collaborate with the finance department and other internal teams to support accounting operations.
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, aerospace, engineering, or a related industry preferred.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Working knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Previous experience with QuickBooks and JobBOSS or similar accounting and ERP platforms preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accountability.
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to organize daily responsibilities, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new processes and procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to work additional hours occasionally during month-end and year-end closing periods.
Work Environment & Expectations:
This is a 100% in-office position.
Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end and year-end closing periods.
