    Overview

    The Junior Database Administrator will support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s database systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring database performance, availability, and security across development, test, and production environments.

    You’ll collaborate closely with internal application teams, architects, and third-party partners to maintain data integrity and support business-critical systems

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in database design and architecture (SQL Server 2017 environment)
    • Maintain and enhance existing databases to support evolving business needs
    • Set up, configure, and test new database and data-handling systems
    • Monitor database performance and implement optimization improvements
    • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with best practices
    • Develop complex queries and reporting solutions using SSRS
    • Support physical and logical database administration for internal CRM systems, external-facing platforms, and reporting tools
    • Collaborate with application teams, architects, testers, and third-party vendors to support DBA functions
    • Set up and maintain test and production database environments
    • Review new DBMS releases and assess business and technical impacts
    • Propose database improvements to enhance monitoring and reduce administrative overhead
    • Follow proper change management procedures to document and implement database updates
    • Proactively monitor database activity to prevent incidents and recommend performance enhancements
    • Participate in incident management and resolution related to database operations
    • Provide guidance and training to internal users on data input and extraction best practices

    Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience with data and database management
    • Strong understanding of database structures, principles, and best practices
    • Experience with database design, documentation, and coding standards
    • Familiarity with DBA tools (frontend/backend) and third-party database utilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL (DDL, DML, DCL, DQL, TCL)
    • Experience working with SSRS reporting
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
