Description: Position: JR Maintenance Technician Shift: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm M - F Plus OT Location: Elk Grove Village Pay : $24 hr based on Experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Services and maintains all machinery and equipment (punch presses, press brakes, lasers, plasmas, tube benders, HVAC, etc.) Learns to operate and break down all machinery Researches, orders and inventories all parts and tooling necessary for machinery Participates in preventative maintenance and repairs of machines in all of the facilities Designs, builds and installs special projects Gathers information on various subjects to find a more affordable and/or efficient way to do things with machines or areas Tracks maintenance related items in FIIX software Performs other job related tasks as assigned Job Requirements: Ability to drive between 5 local manufacturing plants (located in Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village). Must have acceptable driving record. Ability to read tape measure and convert fractions to decimal measurements Ability to read and use measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers Ability to operate various tools, machinery and equipment Must be detail-oriented Must be motivated and team-oriented Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other departments Ability to read and follow blueprints Off-hours work may be required for preventative and other maintenance related work (nights and weekends) Education/Training/Experience High School degree or equivalent Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility is highly desirable Experience with electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical a definite plus HVAC and/or electrical experience preferred Familiarity with HVAC/R systems, high voltage equipment, and general mechanical systems is essential Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with team members and management Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Associate can report any hazards and concerns to the Illinois Department of Labor by call the Department s Day and Temporary Labor Services Act toll-free hotline at 1-877-314-7052 or email at DOL.DayLabor@illinois.gov Total Staffing and QFS do not provide any transportation resources or meals for our associates during any assignments.
