Description

Location: Milford, CT (100% onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire
Interview Process: 2 rounds, onsite

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Job Description:
    Looking for a Jr Applications Engineer to join its Technical Sales/Application Engineering team. This individual will own customer projects from start to finish while receiving mentorship from senior engineers. The role offers exposure to technical sales, project management, architectural lighting applications, customer interaction, AutoCAD submittals, BOM creation, and construction documentation.
    This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants broad project ownership rather than supporting only a small portion of the engineering process.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned customer projects from initiation through completion
  • Review drawings, fixture schedules, specifications, and purchase orders
  • Perform material takeoffs and develop Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Create AutoCAD-based lighting submittal packages and project documentation
  • Support customers by answering technical product questions and troubleshooting issues
  • Participate in customer meetings and project discussions
  • Support product configuration, testing, and deployment activities
  • Develop documentation including user guides, application notes, and FAQs
  • Reproduce and document customer-reported issues for engineering review
  • Continuously build product and industry knowledge

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the lighting industry
  • Exposure to Autodesk Revit
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting technical sales or applications engineering teams
  • Knowledge of construction administration and document management processes
  • CRM or order management experience (NetSuite, Asana, etc.)
  • Exposure to workflow automation or AI tools
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with technical writing, customer support, or testing environments.
