    The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

    The project scope across a 9-mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45 diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.

    Responsibilities:

    Including but not limited to:

    • Performs data entry for accounts payable vouchers, invoices, bills and expenses to ensure accurate and timely payment
    • Reconcile and prepare subcontractor payment applications
    • Reconcile vendor account statements
    • Establish records of accounts and input entries into to proper accounts
    • Enter manual general ledger entries as required
    • Maintain account sub-ledgers
    • Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department
    • Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies
    • Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance
    • Works closely with the area Senior Accountant to be trained as a backup in their absence
    • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting from an accredited institution.
    • Ability to manage a number of different tasks and projects in an organized and efficient manner.
    • Must have excellent work habits to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
    • Strong communication and problem solving skills
    • Good knowledge of accounting rules, regulations and procedures
    • Must be able to work on an active construction job site in an office setting
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Fluent in English with professional proficiency

    Preferred

    • Construction accounting experience
    • Previous accounts payable experience
