Keep production moving by maintaining, repairing, and optimizing complex electrical and control systems across our Wentzville operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment, control circuits, and power distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Adhere to OSHA and GM safety protocols; promote a strong safety culture.
  • Read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctions quickly to avoid delays in production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams; support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to resolve technical issues.

Required background

  • 6+ years as an Electrician or completion of a U.S. Department of Labor Electrical apprenticeship (Certificate of Completion).
  • Minimum age: 18.
  • Flexible to work day, afternoon, or night shifts; willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with limited notice.
  • Current GM employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement: contact local HR/LR regarding placement options.

Compensation

  • Journeyperson In Training (JIT): $37.78 – $44.08/hour.
  • Journeyperson: $44.98/hour.
  • Placement and pay are based on credentials, certifications, and interview performance.
  • GM UAW hourly roles offer a competitive pay and benefits package; qualified employees are also eligible for an annual incentive payout.

Physical requirements

  • Rapid response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
  • Extended standing and on-foot work; occasional seated tasks.
  • Consistent use of personal protective equipment.
  • Work within an active industrial environment; operate mobile equipment as needed.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; lift/carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
