Role Description The Journeyman Painter role is a full-time, on-site position. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing surfaces (cleaning, sanding, patching, masking), applying primers and finish coats, and performing detailed brush, roller, and spray work on interiors and exteriors. The role includes mixing and matching paints, protecting surrounding areas, maintaining tools and equipment, and following project plans and specifications. The Journeyman Painter is expected to read and follow work orders, coordinate with the lead painter or supervisor, adhere to all safety guidelines, and help keep the jobsite clean and organized. This position involves regular interaction with clients and team members, requiring professional conduct and clear communication throughout each project.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of paint products and application techniques.

• Proficient in Painting and Decorating, with experience in both interior and exterior residential or commercial projects.

• Understanding of Coatings, including primers, sealers, and specialty finishes, and their appropriate use on different surfaces.

• Skilled in traditional Painting methods (brush and roller) and detail work such as cut-ins and trim.
• \n
• Experience with Spray Painting equipment, including setup, operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.

• Ability to read and follow job scopes, safety instructions, and basic drawings or plans.
• \n
• Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift materials as required for painting work.

• Commitment to safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.
• \n
• Previous journeyman-level painting experience; trade school or apprenticeship training is a plus.
