Job Title: Journeyman Ironworker
Location: Calvert, Alabama area
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Pay: $30/hour (DOE)
Per Diem: $70/day
Schedule: 40–60 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays and Sundays
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Journeyman Ironworker to support ongoing projects in the Calvert, Alabama area. This role requires a skilled professional with a strong background in structural steel erection, rigging, and ironwork safety practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Erect, align, and secure structural steel components
- Perform rigging, hoisting, and signaling operations
- Bolt, weld, and connect steel framework safely and accurately
- Install metal decking, bar joists, and other structural components
- Inspect materials and equipment to ensure quality and safety standards
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA and site-specific safety regulations
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to meet project deadlines
Qualifications- Proven experience as a Journeyman Ironworker
- Strong knowledge of structural steel erection and rigging techniques
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Proficient in using ironworking tools and equipment
- Valid certifications (OSHA 10/30, rigging, welding) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Valid Driver's License
