    Description

    Journeyman Electrician
Power, lighting, and life-safety systems only count when they are installed clean, inspected once, and ready for occupancy. This role puts a licensed journeyman on active commercial work where layout, workmanship, and schedule decide whether a building opens safely. You will own assigned scopes from rough-in through energization and punch—not wait for someone else to define done.
    Performance Objectives
    • Install, terminate, and test branch circuits, feeders, and lighting so assigned systems energize without rework and pass inspection on the first submission.
    • Read plans, risers, and specifications and lay out conduit, devices, and equipment so rough-in matches design and real field conditions.
    • Find and correct faults before turnover, cutting callbacks and keeping electrical milestones on the look-ahead schedule.
    • Direct apprentices on daily tasks so safety, productivity, and finish quality meet job standards.
    • Apply NEC, OSHA, and site rules on every task, including lockout/tagout, with zero recordable incidents on your work.
    • Coordinate with the general contractor, other trades, and inspectors so conflicts are resolved before they stop the crew.
    • Deliver accurate as-builts, test results, and closeout documents so the owner can operate and maintain the systems.
    Environment & Resources
You will work on commercial construction or renovation sites with a field crew, reporting to a foreman or superintendent. Plans, lifts, materials, and standard test equipment are provided to the job; you bring the hand tools and license expected of a journeyman. Schedules follow the project look-ahead, with overtime when milestones require it.
    Essential Qualifications
    • Current journeyman electrician license in good standing where the work is performed.
    • At least four years installing commercial power, lighting, and related systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to read prints and install conduit, devices, and equipment to those drawings.
    • Working knowledge of the NEC and safe lockout/tagout practice.
    • Valid driver’s license and the ability to work at heights on active construction sites.
    • A record of coaching apprentices without sacrificing quality or safety.
    Role Selling Points
    • Success is measured by inspectable, working systems—not hours on a timesheet.
    • You see design intent through to a finished install, not a single repetitive task.
    • Craft and code compliance are treated as the job, not optional extras.
    • Clear objectives show what excellent performance looks like from day one.
    • Reliable delivery of larger scopes is the path to more responsibility.
    Call to Action
If you can turn drawings into code-compliant power that passes the first time, apply with your license, recent project types, and where you are authorized to work.
