Fence & Deck Depot is hiring a Deck Installer (Journeyman) out of our Wildwood, MO office to support field crews working throughout the greater St. Louis area. This role is full-time and year round with focus on Deck Installation for residential and commercial projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Assist Crew Lead in laying out jobs.
- Take direction on job operations to deliver tasks with limited guidance.
- Loading and unloading materials.
- Digging holes and using shovels.
- Using basic hand tools (tape measures, hammers, speed square).
- Using basic power tools (circular saws, nail guns, drills, impact screw gun).
- Reading a level.
- Driving vehicles.
- Working occasionally on Saturdays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced with power tools (mainly circular saws and drills).
- Carpentry.
- Should enjoy working outdoors.
- Good communication skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Previous deck experience is preferred, but not required.
- Able to read blueprints is preferred but not required.
- Concrete pouring / finishing is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Being able to lift up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodations.
- Performing activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $27-$34/hour DOE. After the training period is complete, the potential to earn $60k - $70k per year.
