Pay: Starting pay $37.22/hr - up to $44.82/hr with client-specific training

As a Journey Industrial Electrician, you'll be essential to maintaining and optimizing the electrical systems within a busy lumber mill. Your expertise will support smooth daily operations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of critical machinery, helping the company uphold its standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

What You’ll Do
As a Journey Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing skilled electrical maintenance tasks, including installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting devices such as AC/DC motors, drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, instrumentation, and PLC controls.
  • Analyzing equipment failures to identify root causes and executing effective repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Following lockout/tagout procedures and upholding strict safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities using digital tools and maintaining excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Working independently or with a team to support safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Supporting other duties as needed to sustain production and safety standards.

What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least four years of stable industrial maintenance experience or equivalent technical/vocational training.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, on-call, rotating shifts, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, reading electrical schematics, and troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and megohmmeters.
  • Ability to operate computers for documentation and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Physical capacity to work in extreme temperatures, climb ladders and catwalks, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Knowledge of DC and AC motors, motor controls, drives (VFD, servo), wiring, process instrumentation, PLC controls, HMIs, and industrial networking.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and electrical safety standards including NEC and NFPA70E (LOTO, Arc Flash).
  • A personal commitment to safety, quality, and continuous professional growth.

Preferred Skills/Abilities
  • Experience with Rockwell Software RSLogix5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio, Allen-Bradley PowerFlex VFDs, and Ethernet IP networking.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and safety systems.
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automation systems.
  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of Precision Maintenance techniques.
