    About the Role

Step into a true job shop environment where every build is different. You’ll take custom, one-off, and short‑run sheet metal and structural projects from print to finished assembly—without the repetitiveness of production welding. If you thrive on variety, problem‑solving, and quality craftsmanship, this is your lane.

    A Day in the Shop

    • Review blueprints, weld symbols, and job travelers to plan the build.
    • Select and prep materials; measure, lay out, and verify tolerances throughout the job.
    • Fit and tack assemblies, then complete welds—primarily MIG (GMAW) on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, with TIG (GTAW) as needed.
    • Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet appearance and structural requirements.
    • Use standard shop tools (grinders, saws, drills, and more) to support fabrication.
    • Own your schedule, maintain quality standards, and keep a safe, organized work area.

    What You’ll Work On

    • Custom, non‑repetitive assemblies and short‑run jobs—no fixture‑based production lines.
    • Sheet metal and structural components fabricated directly from prints.
    • Projects that may evolve—adapting when prints are incomplete or change midstream.

    What You Bring

    • Proven experience in a job shop welding/fabrication setting (not production‑only).
    • Strong MIG (GMAW) welding background across carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless.
    • Ability to read prints, weld symbols, and travelers without assistance.
    • Excellent fit‑up, layout, and on‑the‑fly problem‑solving skills.
    • Reliability, punctuality, and the confidence to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Comfort shifting between changing priorities and diverse job types.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

    Nice to Have

    • TIG (GTAW) welding experience.
    • AWS or comparable welding certifications.
    • Background working from evolving/incomplete drawings.
    • Experience finishing/grinding for appearance or coating.

    Skill Verification

Your welding and fabrication capabilities will be assessed during the interview. Applicants must bring their own personal welding gear to complete a hands‑on weld/fabrication test.
