Direct Support Professional who Supports a Client's Employment

Work Hours: Part-time with potential of full-time 

Schedule: 85 hours total a month between the below 3 locations

• Client in Moreno Valley: 45 hours of support per month.

• Client in Perris: 20 hours of support per month.

• Client in Riverside: 20 hours of support per month. 

Hours:

• Saturday: 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (hours will vary within this time frame)

• Sunday–Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (hours will vary within this time frame)

Compensation: $19.50 per hour

You show up to work knowing your job is to help someone else succeed at theirs.

You’ll support an individual at their place of employment by providing guidance, encouragement, and just the right amount of support to help them confidently navigate their workday. You might help them learn new tasks, understand workplace routines, communicate with coworkers, stay organized, or problem-solve when something doesn’t go as planned.

The goal? Support—not take over. You’ll encourage independence, build confidence, and gradually help the individual do more on their own while respecting their role as an employee.

Some days you’ll celebrate a new skill. Other days, you’ll help work through a challenge. And sometimes, your biggest accomplishment will be knowing when to step back and let them shine.

You’re not there to do the job for them. You’re there to help them succeed at doing it themselves.

You'll use your personal vehicle to transport the individual you support. Mileage for approved work-related travel is reimbursed at the current IRS rate.

Supported Employment (SE) Program Highlights

• Make an Impact: Help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build confidence, independence, and meaningful careers.
• Personalized Coaching: Provide 1:1 support for individual placements and 1:3 support for group placements.
• On-the-Job Support: Coach individuals directly in integrated community workplaces while helping them learn and succeed.
• Career Development: Support career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, job placement, and workplace skills.
• Build Connections: Partner with individuals and local employers to create meaningful, lasting employment opportunities.
• Quality-Focused Program: Work within a CARF-certified program committed to safety, quality, and individualized support.

Job Specific Essential Duties

1. Train, support, and monitor clients while in the community.
2. Participate in the development of a circle of support, to build relationships with family, friends, neighbors, and other community.
3. Develop individualized adaptive support materials as needed.
4. Develop and expand clients’ participation in integrated employment activities.
5. Assist with development and implementation of clients’ annual plan, goals, and objectives 
6. Participate in clients’ annual Individualized Program Plan (IPP) meeting 
7. Provide same day shift coverage as requested by supervisor.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Experience: 1 year working in social services, education, or with the developmentally disabled population preferred
• Driving: 3 years driving experience; own vehicle for transportation; willing to drive up to 3 clients in your personal vehicle at once (mileage reimbursed at current IRS rate)
