The Tomah Area School District has the following extracurricular vacancy beginning in the 2026-2027 school year: TMS Jazz Band Director

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

The TMS Jazz Band Director is responsible for teaching the Beginning and Advanced Jazz Bands at TMS. The purpose of these groups is to teach the fundamentals of the Jazz style of music, and to offer musicians an additional ensemble to foster their love of music.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set rehearsal schedules
• Recruit/audition for ensembles
• Pick music/part assign
• Rehearse both ensembles
• Direct groups at performances
• Communicate with parents about rehearsals and performances
