Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Java Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting cloud-based applications, microservices, and data-driven solutions while delivering scalable and secure software products.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Software Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices using Java/J2EE, Angular, GCP, and modern software engineering practices.

  • Build and support scalable backend services and user-facing applications while ensuring performance, security, and reliability requirements are met.

  • Develop and optimize data-driven solutions using BigQuery, SQL, Cloud Run, and cloud-based technologies to support business and engineering needs.

  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into production-ready software solutions.

  • Implement automated testing, CI/CD practices, application monitoring, and performance optimization to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and cloud platform issues while identifying opportunities to enhance scalability, operational efficiency, and adoption of technology.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 6+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years of hands-on software development experience building cloud-native and enterprise applications.

  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP services (Cloud Run, BigQuery), Java/J2EE, Angular, SQL, Microservices Architecture, and API development.

  • Proven expertise in developing scalable cloud-based applications, troubleshooting performance issues in GCP environments, and working within Agile, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
