Java Lead/Architect

Job Title: Java Lead/Architect
Location: Sunnyvale, CA – Onsite
Employment Type: W2 Contract Only
Rate: $55–$60/hour W2

Position Overview:
We are looking for a strong Java Lead/Architect / Solutions Architect with experience designing and delivering highly distributed, customer-facing and enterprise-scale platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in system design, technical architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and scalable backend technologies.

Key Requirements:

• 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on System Design, Technical Architecture, or Solution Architecture
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale, customer-facing production systems
• Experience with GenAI-assisted technologies
• Strong experience designing and documenting engineering specifications, API contracts, data flows, and interface definitions
• Experience architecting distributed systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and horizontal scalability
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and solutions
• Strong experience with modern backend technologies such as Java, Python, J2EE, and Object-Oriented Programming
• Experience with SOA, APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures
• Experience with data stores such as Oracle, NoSQL, and MongoDB
• Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business stakeholders and engineering teams
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
