Java Full Stack / Microservices Engineer Level 10

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Microservices Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-ready applications. The role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, GraphQL, MongoDB, Python integration, security, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and observability.

The ideal candidate will also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and contribute to architectural and technical roadmap decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Microservices Development

• Design and build scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices using clean architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Develop reliable and maintainable backend services.

Kafka & Event Streaming

• Develop and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, and stream processors.
• Manage Kafka topics, schemas, and message delivery guarantees.

GraphQL API Development

• Design and maintain GraphQL schemas, resolvers, queries, mutations, and subscriptions.
• Optimize GraphQL performance using DataLoader batching.

MongoDB

• Design MongoDB document schemas and indexes.
• Develop aggregation pipelines and manage data migrations using Spring Data MongoDB.

Authentication & Security

• Implement OAuth2 / OpenID Connect authentication flows.
• Manage JWT tokens and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Implement security using Spring Security.

Python Service Integration

• Integrate Java and Python services using REST, gRPC, or Kafka.
• Define and maintain versioned shared data contracts.

Testing & Code Quality

• Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering and coding standards.

CI/CD & DevOps

• Containerize applications using Docker.
• Deploy and manage services on Kubernetes.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.

Observability

• Implement structured logging and distributed tracing using OpenTelemetry.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor team members and share technical expertise.
• Drive architectural and technical decisions.
• Establish coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the team's technical roadmap.

Contract Details

• Level: 10
• Duration: 4 months
• Contractor Termination Period: 15 days, non-reciprocal
