Job Title: Java FSE Senior Developer
Location: Richmond, VA / Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite / Hybrid
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using Java and modern frontend technologies.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly UI components using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
- Create scalable backend services using Spring Boot and related Spring Framework modules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure software quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application performance, security, and scalability issues.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and support automated deployments.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design, optimize, and maintain data models.
- Support production deployments and participate in incident resolution when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software development with Java/J2EE technologies.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Java 8/11/17+
- Spring Boot
- Spring MVC
- Spring Data JPA
- Spring Security
- Microservices Architecture, Even driven designs using RabbitMQ
- Experience with front-end technologies:
- Angular (preferred) or React
- TypeScript
- JavaScript
- HTML5
- CSS3
- Experience developing REST APIs and web services.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and SDLC practices.
- Experience with No SQL DB esp. MongoDB
- Experience with any relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Proficiency with Git-based source control systems.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Copilot, Devin, Windsurf for AI prompting, Spec Driven development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
- Experience with GraphQL and API gateway technologies.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, SonarQube, and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding security standards, OAuth2, JWT, and OWASP best practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, or Cypress
