Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with hands-on Go (Golang) experience to support Walmart's large-scale backend and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based microservices along with practical experience developing services using Go.
The developer will work on highly scalable, high-performance applications and collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps, and architecture teams to design and deliver reliable backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Go (Golang).
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Go.
• Build highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Develop and enhance cloud-native applications and services.
• Work with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka.
• Integrate applications with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Develop unit and integration tests and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Follow engineering best practices related to security, scalability, reliability, and observability.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on development experience with Java.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17+, depending on the application environment.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Hands-on development experience with Go (Golang).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and software design principles.
• Experience with Git-based source control.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building high-volume, low-latency applications.
• Experience working on large-scale retail, e-commerce, or enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Previous experience working in a large-scale enterprise engineering environment.
