Java Developer
Location: Columbus, OH | Job Type: Contract to Hire
About the Role

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs using Java 8+ and Spring Boot
- Integrate applications with internal and external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability
- Implement and support event-driven architecture leveraging Kafka
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide on-call support for production issues, including monitoring via Splunk
- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams to achieve project goals and deliverables
- Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes using Git/GitHub
Required Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
- Proficient in SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Strong experience with Kafka or event-driven architecture
- Skilled in Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in JUnit and Mockito for automated testing
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with production support and monitoring tools such as Splunk
Preferred Skills
- Background in Banking, Payments, or Financial Services
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or Azure Boards
- Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
