Java Developer

We are seeking a skilled Core Java Developer in Columbus, OH to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise applications within a banking and financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-based application development.

The candidate will work closely with architects, product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable technology solutions that support critical banking and payment applications. Experience with AWS, event-driven architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD practices is highly preferred. 

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java and modern Java frameworks.
• Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and related Spring technologies.
• Apply object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, exception handling, and multithreading concepts to develop maintainable solutions.
• Develop and integrate backend services supporting banking, payments, transaction processing, and other financial applications.
• Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Apache Kafka, where applicable.
• Develop database integrations and optimize SQL queries, transactions, and data access across relational databases.
• Build, deploy, and support cloud-native applications using AWS services such as ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, and other relevant services.
• Participate in application design, technical discussions, code reviews, and solution architecture activities.
• Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
• Integrate application builds, automated tests, and deployment activities into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Maven, or comparable tools.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support production stability, performance, and resiliency.
• Apply secure coding practices and contribute to application reliability, observability, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to refine requirements, estimate work, deliver sprint commitments, and continuously improve engineering practices.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and modernization of existing applications where required.
