Job Summary: Senior Java Developer - Credit Card Servicing (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Columbus, OH (Remote Flexibility Available)

Join a forward-thinking payments team as a Senior Java Developer, driving the evolution of our Credit Card Servicing solutions. You will design, develop, and deploy robust enterprise applications and APIs within a dynamic Agile environment. Collaborate with passionate engineers, architects, and business partners to deliver impactful solutions leveraging modern Java, Spring Boot, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
[Responsibilities]
- Lead the design, coding, testing, deployment, and support of Java-based solutions for payment platforms.
- Develop modern RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring scalability and security.
- Contribute to full-stack development and cloud-enabled services using containers (on-prem and cloud).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create unified API layers across diverse data sources.
- Support system and software design, including database schema, data mapping, and high-availability resources.
- Play a vital role in transitioning to cloud and containerized environments, as well as Kafka integration.
- Implement DevOps practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and environment setup.
- Participate in Agile sprints, delivering rapid and quality solutions that meet evolving business needs.
- Mentor junior teammates and contribute to team process improvements.
- Maintain and enhance existing integration assets and ensure operational excellence.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- 5+ years hands-on Java development (Java, Spring Boot, Eclipse, Maven, Gradle).
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and integrating diverse data sources.
- Full-stack development exposure and familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
- Proven experience with SQL and database design principles.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field OR 9+ years relevant experience.
- Demonstrated Agile methodology experience.
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience with Kafka, cloud migration, and containerization.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and customer-centric mindset.
