Summary
We're looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to support Walmart's large-scale distributed systems. The role centers on building Java/Spring Boot microservices, with working knowledge of Go to contribute to Go-based services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to and troubleshoot Go services as needed.
• Work with Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud-native deployments.
• Write efficient, well-tested code and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Resolve production issues and take part in code reviews and design discussions in an Agile team.

Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of strong production experience with Java 8/11/17+ and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience in microservices architecture, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, and patterns such as API Gateway, Circuit Breaker, and Saga.
• Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), with solid problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Go (Golang).
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, distributed systems, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and a public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Nice to Have

• Production Go experience.
• Redis, Terraform, observability tools, and experience with high-volume retail or e-commerce systems.
