Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services, the Janitorial Technician (Healthcare) is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the facility. This role supports patient care by ensuring all clinical and non-clinical areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards.This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.Key ResponsibilitiesLinen ServicesCollect dirty laundry from patient care areas and designated locationsDistribute clean linens to departments as neededEnsure linens for on-campus housing are returned to the correct locationCleaning & SanitationClean and sanitize assigned areas according to established guidelines and schedulesMaintain cleanliness in patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, emergency department, imaging areas, laboratories, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, and other designated areasWipe down equipment using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning chemicalsVacuum carpets, dust surfaces, and clean furnitureMake beds, empty trash, and restock supplies as neededMaintain cleanliness in on-campus housing areas when assignedCheck and refill dispensers such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizerEquipment & InventoryPerform daily inventory of supplies and equipmentInspect equipment and report any maintenance or safety issuesMaintain and restock housekeeping cart before each shiftEnsure cleaning carts and chemicals are secured when not in direct supervisionOrganizational ExpectationsMaintain reliable attendance and punctualityProtect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesCommunicate effectively with team members and other departmentsMaintain respectful and professional relationships with patients, staff, and visitorsFollow all workplace safety proceduresEmployee EngagementParticipate in service excellence initiatives and training programsAttend departmental meetings and review meeting communicationsComplete all required annual education and training on timeQualificationsPrevious housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred but not requiredAbility to follow safety and sanitation proceduresStrong communication and teamwork skillsBasic familiarity with computers and standard workplace equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform light physical work including lifting up to 25 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shiftAbility to work in a fast-paced healthcare environmentWhat We OfferOn-the-job training providedSupportive team environmentOpportunity to grow within a healthcare organization$18/hour
