JANITORIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED — Applicants must have previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience to be considered for this position.
Do you have hands-on janitorial experience and take pride in doing a job well? VIP, Inc. is looking for an experienced cleaner to join our team as a Janitorial Job Coach! In this role, you'll use your cleaning skills to work alongside a small group of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), demonstrating proper cleaning techniques and providing training and assistance when needed.
This is not an entry-level cleaning position. Candidates must have prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience. Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is not required.
What You'll Do
Perform and demonstrate janitorial tasks, including dusting, cleaning restrooms, floor care, emptying trash, and picking up litter outdoors.
Work alongside a small group of VIP clients, typically three individuals, as they complete their assigned cleaning duties.
Provide hands-on training, guidance, and assistance when needed to help clients complete tasks safely and correctly.
Monitor work quality and ensure cleaning standards and business partner expectations are met.
Encourage clients to build their skills, confidence, and independence in the workplace.
Communicate with supervisors and other VIP team members regarding progress, concerns, and support needs.
What We're Looking For
Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is required.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and janitorial equipment.
Ability to demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and maintain quality standards.
High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Reliable transportation between work locations, as needed.
Dependable, patient, and comfortable working directly alongside others.
Ability to perform physical cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the workday.
Experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required.
