JANITOR (Full-Time & Part-Time/On-Call)

Position Hours: 2 Positions:
Full Time: 2nd Shift, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday – Friday + Weekend Overtime
Part-Time: 8:00am – 8:00pm, Weekdays and some weekends ((Need to be available for coverage for 1st and 2nd shift, from 8 am - 8 pm. Ideal availability is 7 days but that's not usually realistic. Need to be available on the weekends and at least 3 days during the week.)

Summary
Keeps premises of buildings in clean and orderly condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow.
- Delivers messages.
- Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
- Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.
Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
