    Job Description

    The IW Plan Compliance Associate is responsible for performing compliance services for qualified retirement plans of low to moderate complexity. This position applies technical knowledge of retirement plan administration and governmental regulations to prepare compliance testing, government reporting, correction calculations, and related client deliverables.

    The Associate serves as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, develops working relationships with plan sponsors, and identifies issues requiring escalation. The position is expected to work independently with review and coaching, mentor Analysts, and contribute to departmental process improvements while continuing to expand technical knowledge.

    How Youll Spend Your Time

    • You will serve as the primary contact for assigned retirement plans and provide timely client support.
    • You will manage annual compliance activities for low to moderately complex retirement plans.
    • You will review participant eligibility, compensation, and contributions to ensure plan compliance.
    • You will conduct and analyze required nondiscrimination and allocation testing for retirement plans.
    • You will identify compliance issues and recommend corrective actions with senior team members.
    • You will oversee Form 5500 filings, audit support, regulatory compliance, and process improvement efforts.

    Education & Experience Requirements

    This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related field and 2-4 years of retirement plan administration, compliance, trust, accounting, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Working knowledge of retirement plan administration, compliance testing methodologies, and operational compliance requirements.
    • Ability to independently prepare and analyze compliance projects, including participant eligibility reviews, compensation reviews, contribution reviews, and nondiscrimination testing.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify compliance concerns, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
    • Understanding of applicable IRS, DOL, and ERISA regulations impacting qualified retirement plans.
    • Proficiency in compliance-related systems, trust accounting platforms, recordkeeping systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance projects and meet established deadlines.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain compliance concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Ability to research routine compliance matters and apply findings to assigned projects.
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
    • Ability to provide guidance and support to Analysts regarding procedures, project workflow, and compliance requirements.
