    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provides services to pre-school aged children according to state and federal guidelines to include:

    • Development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and Individualized Education Programs
    • Administering and scoring of student screenings and assessments
    • Maintaining all required special education due process requirements
    • Consults with school personnel concerning behavioral, academic, cognitive, and health needs of students upon request

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Implements early childhood program standards to maximize student learning as aligned with District learning continuum
    • Provides a full range of early childhood services within the classroom, including services to ECE children with varying disabilities
    • Collaborates with a variety of health care providers, including OT/PT/Speech and other exceptional childhood service providers
    • Supervises early childhood students in a classroom setting, as well as during meals and on buses
    • Attends to personal needs of pre-school aged children
    • Maintains confidential records and information in compliance with federal and state regulations
    • Participates in professional development activities related to the early childhood population and focused on District academic goals and priorities
    • Duties may include performance of health services, for which training will be provided
    • Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as outlined at the school/district
    • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
    • Adheres to the professional code of ethics
    • Successfully utilizes technology as appropriate in job function
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Kentucky Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Certification or Special Education Certification
    • Master's degree
    • 3 years teaching experience
    • Ability to work successfully with people
    • Program specific certifications/training including CPR, first aid and health re-examinations
    • Experience and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
