About this Opportunity:

The Compliance Officer position conducts training and audits to ensure Iowa Title Guaranty participants comply with program rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines. This position works closely with attorneys, abstractors, independent closers, and internal stakeholders to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and support the successful administration of ITG programs.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Audits & Risk Management

  • Conduct real estate title production, settlement, and escrow account compliance audits of Iowa Title Guaranty participants to verify adherence to program requirements.
  • Prepare audit reports, communicate findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the development of monitoring processes and risk mitigation strategies.

Training & Technical Assistance

  • Deliver training and technical assistance to attorneys, abstractors, independent closers, and ITG staff.
  • Develop training materials, webinars, videos, and educational resources.
  • Promote best practices related to title production, settlement, and escrow account management.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with participants and industry partners.
  • Provide clear guidance on ITG requirements, compliance expectations, and program procedures.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to help participants strengthen operations and reduce risk.

The ITG Compliance Officer position is a non-merit, contract-covered position that is classified by the State of Iowa as a Compliance Officer 1. This position is exempt per FLSA regulations.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in investigative or closely related work which involved: preparing interpretative or administrative orders, rules, or regulations which have the effect of law; or interpreting and enforcing federal or state laws governing health care administration; or quality assurance review to determine, through internal audit or analysis, the level of compliance with program requirements; or drafting, negotiating, or examining contracts or related documents required for organizational operations.

2) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work involving the interpretation and enforcement of federal and state laws or department policies and procedures or quality assurance review as determined through internal audit or analysis of the level of compliance to program requirements.

3) Graduation from accredited school of law.

4) A total of seven years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one and two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
