Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Manage software assets throughout the full lifecycle, including intake, request, approval, procurement support, assignment, entitlement tracking, renewal, reclamation, retirement, and compliance review.
Maintain accurate software asset records, including licenses, subscriptions, entitlements, contracts, service agreements, renewal dates, vendor information, ownership records, and lifecycle data.
Analyze software asset data to identify utilization trends, compliance risks, renewal concerns, cost optimization opportunities, duplicate applications, and software governance gaps.
Perform software license reconciliation, entitlement validation, compliance reviews, audit evidence gathering, usage analysis, and exception reporting.
Generate and distribute reports on software inventory, license utilization, compliance status, renewals, vendor performance, software lifecycle status, and operational metrics.
Support vendor governance activities, including contract validation, invoice reviews, software catalog maintenance, billing accuracy reviews, vendor performance tracking, and renewal coordination.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve software asset issues and improve software lifecycle management processes.
Support CMDB alignment initiatives by improving software asset data quality, ownership records, entitlement accuracy, and lifecycle visibility.
Identify process improvement opportunities that reduce manual effort, increase automation, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen software governance.
Contribute to knowledge articles, standard operating procedures, training materials, and software asset management documentation.
Provide high-quality support for software-related inquiries, escalations, renewals, audits, true-ups, reclamation initiatives, and special projects.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, SaaS administration, technology operations, procurement support, vendor management, or related disciplines.
Experience managing software assets across the full lifecycle, including request, approval, assignment, renewal, reclamation, retirement, and compliance review.
Strong understanding of software licensing, subscriptions, entitlements, service agreements, contracts, and renewal management.
Experience supporting software request processes, license assignment, utilization reviews, entitlement tracking, and compliance activities.
Ability to analyze software asset data, identify discrepancies, investigate issues, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, maintain documentation, and communicate complex information clearly.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently follow through on deliverables.
Understanding of audit readiness, compliance controls, risk identification, and software governance practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise Software Asset Management modernization initiatives.
Exposure to software audit activities, true-ups, vendor reviews, and software rationalization programs.
Experience with SaaS management practices and software utilization optimization.
Familiarity with CMDB data quality initiatives and software asset governance frameworks.
Experience supporting workflow automation, AI-enabled operational solutions, or process orchestration initiatives.
Exposure to software discovery platforms, software metering tools, reporting dashboards, and software governance technologies.
Experience supporting vendor accountability, cost optimization initiatives, and operational improvement programs within large enterprise environments.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Asset Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
